Mbali Mapholi is a registered dietitian in private practice, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and an African original. She received her dietetics qualifications; BSc. Dietetics & PGDip Dietetics from University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). She has worked as a dietitian in the state hospitals and corporate since 2012.Her last job was at Nestle Health Science as a medical delegate where she was awarded with a highest year on year growth award shortly before she started her own practice (Mbali Mapholi Inc.) in 2016.
As a dietitian in private practice, she has interest in Diabetes, Insulin resistance, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Heart & heart related diseases, weight management & gut health (Constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome) & nutrition education with special focus on African nutrition & food culture. She also works as a consultant dietitian for corporate, food brand companies, a media contributions through regular features & appearances on various media platforms (Major television, radio, digital & print media). Her major highlight since in private practice are her position as her slots as a resident dietitian for Metro fm , a radio station in South Africa where she was given a platform to provide nutritional education for their listeners.
As a business executive; entrepreneur, she is a chief custodian & managing director of 2 business entities:
1) Mbali Mapholi Inc. (A dietetics company, that provides nutritional counselling to private and corporate clients);
(2) MiNutrition ZA (A wellness company, that provides a complete wellness solution for individuals & corporate)
Giving back is a huge part of her life, her businesses have a social responsibility which is served through her Non-profit Organization; Munakisi Wellness (Non-Profit Organization that serves needing communities, drives advocacy for various issues all over the African continent). She is an executive director of a Non-Government organization; Ntsikayezwe Development Foundation (NYDfoundation).
Mbali is a Young Africa Leadrship Initiative (YALI) Alumni, if she is not working as a dietitian or managing her businesses, she attends leadership conferences, seminars & workshops that aim to come up with solutions of issues affecting Africa. she also design & get her clothes made using all types of amazing African fabric.
